Nasal Cavity Cancer
The Nasal Cavity is an area of the face which includes the protruding nose along with its nostrils, as well as the structures inside the nose. This is the areas of which Nasal Cavity Cancer grows. Fortunately for most people, most types of nasal cavity infections are not cancerous, and will not lead to Nasal Cavity Cancer. Most of these infections are simply just infections or capillaries, which can cause things such as frequent nose bleeds.
However, if the tumor in the nose is malignant, it can spread to any part of the body – and at any time. So it’s crucial that you report any abnormal growth in, or around the nose. Treatment for these kind of Nasal Cavity Cancers, are usually surgery, in order to remove the rumor, however, radiation and chemotherapy have sometimes been used – though it’s a more uncommon practice for Nasal Cavity Cancer.
Cancer of the Nasal Cavity is relatively rare. Each year in the United States there are only about 1000 new cases of nasal and Para nasal sinus cancers. Of these 1000 diagnosed, only 300 of these deaths are caused from Nasal Cancer. In the Nasal Related Cancers, it’s known that men are affected twice as often as women, although, there are other risk factors that can lead to Nasal Cancer. Such as you are more likely to get Nasal cancer when:
• You use tobacco – as the inhalation of the smoke
can cause cancer
• You have/ have had certain infections of the Nasal Cavity – you
have even a greater chance when these infections occur frequently.
• You Have a low immunity system, and easily catch disease.
• You have a history of cancer – notably Nasal Cavity Cancer - in your family
• You breathe in sawdust regularly.
